VUNO Med®-DeepEWS attracts attention at AHA Scientific Sessions 2019 pitch contest

  • 11. 17. 2019

VUNO Med®-DeepEWS entered the finals of American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2019 pitch contest. This pitch contest was held on November 17th, 2019. There were a hundred health care companies that participated in AHA, of which only six candidates entered the finals.

VUNO's deep learning-based Early Warning System uses only four simple vital signs, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and body temperature as input to predict the patient’s risk of cardiac arrest.

VUNO collected the patient monitors from big medical device manufacturers and is undergoing prospective multicenter validation in more than five thousand beds in South Korea.

VUNO has penetrated more than five hospitals and saved more than 30 patients who could have been missed by conventional triggering systems, and is also validating DeepEWS with the data collected from various wearable devices to expand the boundaries of DeepEWS.

"The vision of DeepEWS is to EXPAND from general wards to ICU and ER and from in-hospital environments to outpatient and post-admission environments.” said Hyunho Park, medical director at VUNO.
